PURPOSE: A color cathode ray tube is provided to reduce an ununiformity of a film thickness and a coating solution used in a coating process by forming a low-reflection coating with a spray method at an outer surface of a panel in a color cathode ray tube. CONSTITUTION: A color cathode ray tube comprises a panel(1) having a screen; a funnel(2) mounted to a rear surface of the panel; an electron gun inserted into a neck part of the funnel for emitting an electron beam toward the screen; and a shadow(3) mask having a plurality of electron beam through hole arranged with a predetermined spacing at the inside of the panel. An outer surface of the panel comprises an electromagnetic waves preventing film and a reflection preventing film(15) formed with a spray method. A thickness of a low-reflection film constituted with the electromagnetic waves preventing film and the reflection preventing film has an irregular prominence and depression shape. A height difference of a detailed prominence and depression is formed with 20-200nm in a predetermined area of a surface.
