PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label affixing device and a label affixing method suitable for affixing a label while applying the substantially equal affixing pressure to an inner circumferential surface of a work. SOLUTION: The label affixing device 10 comprises an affixing head 11 to be inserted from an opening part 14 of a container C, a label holding unit 23 which is provided on a tip side of the affixing head 11 to suck and hold a label L, and a roller 44 to press the label L held by the label holding unit 23 against the inner circumferential surface of the container C. This label affixing device affixes the label L to the inner circumferential surface of the container C by allowing the roller 44 to press the label L from one end side to the other end side when the container C and the affixing head are relatively rotated in the horizontal plane.
