The device is designed as a flat rectangular housing to be moved along the seatbelt (2) into the appropriate position. A blade integrated in a carriage guided with matching grooves along linear elevations and accommodated inside the housing can be moved with a control element (1) across the belt (2) in order to release a person not able to free her/himself in case of an emergency. A locking element (3) prevents an unintentional activation of the device.
