<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hemostasis valve for an introducer which prevents leakage of blood by accelerating returning operation of the valve when pulling out a catheter, and which surely guides and holds the catheter in the center of the valve. <P>SOLUTION: The hemostasis valve consists of a plate-like valve element 8 made of elastic material which is mounted at a position in the introducer where a catheter insertion path is clogged, wherein a slit 13 is provided in the catheter insertion path, a ring-formed protrusion 10 is provided on one surface of the valve element 8 surrounding the slit 13, and the circumferential surface of the protrusion 10 comes in press-contact with the inner peripheral surface of the catheter insertion path when the catheter is inserted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
