PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal stepladder for safe work irrespective of unevenness and inclined slope of a floor surface and the ground surface or the like so that these effects can be lessened. SOLUTION: In the stepladder forming two plane step bodies equipped with a pair of vertical lateral side members opposed to each other and an upper side member connecting between the upper end sections of the lateral side members and opposing the step bodies to each other in the longitudinal direction along both right and left opposite surfaces, an upper side member of each step body is formed in an oblong parallelepiped, a through-hole is perforated in the central part of each parallelepiped, at the same time, a bolt is inserted from one side of the through-hole, it is stopped with a nut from the other side in a little allowable state, each parallelepiped is in a movable state to turn toward right and left directions and longitudinal direction, and the step bodies are fixed at least in one end edge section of an overlap state in an oscillating operation of the parallelepiped by providing a stopping means.
