PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double chuck unit to be attached to an industrial robot so as to feed a workpiece to a machine tool or so as to remove the workpiece from the machine tool, which double chuck unit can grip a heavy workpiece by means of a gripping device having a fall preventing mechanism, and can quickly swivel. SOLUTION: A gripping mechanism portion used for the double chuck unit adopts a gripping device using a toggle mechanism, and also uses a numerically controllable motor in a driving section, and uses a dual lead worm gear as a movement direction changing mechanism arranged between the output shaft of the motor and a swivelling mechanism section.
