METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING DRINKING WATER WHILE DETECTING FUNCTION OF MEMBRANE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for treating drinking water while detecting the function of a membrane. SOLUTION: The apparatus is constituted so that original water from any of various sources is treated by membrane filtration to obtain at least one kind of drinking water and the obtained drinking water is distributed. A mechanism for detecting the function of the filtration membrane in a predetermined condition is arranged in at least one of the filtration membranes. The obtained drinking water is preferentially distributed independently or together with clean water to be combined. When this apparatus is not used, only the clean water is distributed at once. An in-line means for detecting the function of the filtration membrane is arranged so that whether or not the filtration membrane is damaged is always detected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
