PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock for a game machine which can prevent fraudulence committed to a control board for the games, or the like, by completely blocking the release of a door even with a wire to be inserted through a clearance. SOLUTION: The lock 7 for the game machine is provided with a cylinder lock 11 which is provided on a front panel 5 made free to open or close through a hinge on a case body 3 and has a crank shaft 9 fixed on a rotary shaft 11a in linkage therewith, a case body side slide plate 13 which is provided on the case body 3 being freely slidable vertically and has a retaining pawl 25 with a T-shaped tip protruding to the front panel 5, an engaging hole 31 which is provided on the front panel 5 being freely slidable vertically to let the tip of the crank shaft 9 advance thereinto, a front panel side slide plate 15 which has a retaining hole 33 that lets the retaining pawl 25 advance to be retained therein, and an inclined piece 35 which is provided on the front panel 5 and contacts a contact part 13a of the case body side slide plate 13 with the closing of the front panel 5 to make the case body side slide plate 13 slide upward.
