PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning apparatus for a liquid crystal display panel, which is arranged to remove foreign matter, such as cullet and sealants, sticking to both surfaces of the liquid crystal display panels, and which not only circumvents the occurrence of the trouble due to the use of a stage disposed to support the liquid crystal display panel by coming into surface-to-surface contact with the panel but also enhances working efficiency. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display panel 10 is supported to an approximately perpendicular state by means of a supporting mechanism 20 and both surfaces of the panel 10 are simultaneously cleaned while the panel is supported to each other so as not to fall down by a pair of washing mechanisms 30 and 30 arranged to hold the panel 10 between the same in its thickness direction.
