PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily storing a large-sized glass substrate and a box for transferring a glass substrate. SOLUTION: Glass substrates 1 are moved in a lateral direction by a transferring device 2, guided in parallel grooves Y, Y' arranged at a ceiling surface pad 9 and a bottom surface pad 10 in a box main body 4 and further guided in a lateral direction and guided in vertical grooves G in side pads 11. This operation is repeated in sequence to cause the predetermined number of glass substrates 1 to be stored in the box main body 4 and then the glass substrate 1 is stored in the box main body 4 under a state in which it is pressed by a side lid pad 13 of a side lid member 12.
