PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substantially colorless and transparent polyimide coating membrane or film usable to an optical fiber, a heat resistant coating film, and the like. SOLUTION: An amine component containing a substituted aromatic diamine (bis[4-aminophenyl] sulfone (4, 4-DDS)) as the main ingredient and an acid component containing an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (biphenyltetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (BPDA)) and 2, 2-bis[4-(dicarboxyphenoxy)phenyl]propionic acid dianhydride (BPADA) as the main ingredients are reacted in a polar organic solvent to give a polyimide precursor solution. In this way, there can be provided a polyimide coating film retaining high transparency and having high toughness and a polyimide precursor solution usable for the same. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
