In a process to transfer an incoming loose and weak web of non-woven staple fibre fleece from one roller drum to another, the fleece is held securely by air suction during take-up from the first drum and release to the second. Also claimed is an assembly in which a hot and loose fleece web is simultaneously cooled by air during the transfer process. The transfer is effected by a rotating sieve drum (19) from which air (26) is exhausted. The upper side of the drum is covered by a cap (27). |
