PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a pull-in errors of a tray and also to improve the operability of a device at the tray-in operation independently of the direction of deviation even when the position of the optical disk on the tray is deviated from the prescribed position in an optical disk player such as a DVD player. SOLUTION: When all of the switches become ON (YES in S2), the DVD is judged as placed on the prescribed position on the tray, and after waiting for 500 ms (S9) till the vibration of the DVD stops, the tray-in operation is automatically started (S12) and also the ON/OFF state of each switch is continuously checked (S14) till the time when the tray-in operation is finished (NO in S13), then the tray-in operation is discontinued when the ON/OFF state of whichever switch is changed (YES in S14).
