CONNECTOR FOR OPTICAL FIBER ARRAY AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for optical fiber array capable of simply be manufactured, improving the dimensional accuracy, and reducing costs, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A metal film 12 is coated on surfaces of glass fibers 11a which are exposed by removing cover layers 11b of the side of end parts of a plurality of optical fibers 11 which constitute an optical fiber array 10 and which are arranged in parallel and the optical fibers 11 coated with the metal film 12 are arranged at fixed intervals on the surface of a first substrate 14 for mounting on whose surface the metal film 12 of the same kind is coated and metal films are made to be melted with each other and the optical fibers are stuck to the substrate 14 through adhesive 17 while abutting a second substrate 18 on the upper side of the fibers.
