PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an emboss processing of more kinds of optical signs capable of improving security to forgery and decorative effect. SOLUTION: This satin processing apparatus is composed of performing a satin processing and the emboss processing of a plane material (9). This apparatus is provided with an emboss roll and at least one fitting roll, and these rolls are connected with a driving system, and an individual tooth is flattened, and on the other hand, is individually driven or driven in common to be fitted so as to be mutually elastically pressed, and while the emboss teeth are passed through, an emboss mark is made at a corresponding position of the plane material. The appearance of the emboss mark is changed depending on the visual angle of an observer and/or the kind of a light source and/or a position. The emboss teeth for making the variable mark has a geometrical shape and/or face which are different from the satin teeth attempting to perform the satin processing. Furthermore, the face of the emboss teeth (2S1-2S6; 2M1-2M3) and/or the part of the bottom part (ZG) of a teeth space are provided with micro-structures (20-22, 26-33 and 23-25).
