PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which the metal complex of an aminooligosaccharide derivative can be separated from the metal complex of a bifunctional ligand in excellent purification efficiency. SOLUTION: This method is characterized by separating and purifying the mixture solution of the metal complex of an aminooligosaccharide derivative with the metal complex of a bifunctional ligand into the solutions of the metal complexes, respectively, by an electrodialysis method. The pH value of the mixture solution is preferably adjusted to 3 to 12, further preferably to 5.0 to 11.5, especially preferably to 8.5 to 9.5. The electrodialysis membrane comprises a cation exchange membrane having a molecular weight cut off of≥100 and an anion exchange membrane having a molecular weight cut off of 200 to 500, preferably 250 to 350.
