ELECTRODELESS DISCHARGE LAMP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp capable of restraining increase of loss of a core when the loss of the core increases even below a predetermined temperature, or even above the predetermined temperature. SOLUTION: This electrodeless discharge lamp is equipped with: a bulb 2 formed of a translucent material so as to have a recessed cavity 1 by enclosing a gas in its inside; an induction coil 4 wound around a bobbin 3 installed in the cavity 1 for generating a high-frequency electromagnetic field in the bulb 2; the core 5 of a magnetic material mounted in the bobbin 3; and a radiator 6 for radiating heat of the core 5. A space is formed by separating the core 5 from the radiator 6, and a bimetal 10 of a thermal deformation member for thermally connecting the core 5 to the radiator above a predetermined temperature is interlaid in the space 9. The bimetal 10 contacts the core 5 to allow the heat of the core 5 to escape when the temperature of the radiator 6 exceeds 100°C, and separates from the core 5 when the temperature of the radiator 6 is set below 100°C.
