Security system for almost any displaceable object comprise an alarm unit that can be activated from an external source. Optimally the alarm unit is configured as a wireless communication unit and can be activated by an external transceiver unit as soon as the owner discovers it is stolen. Once activated a locating center (10) can determine the location of the stolen item.
