PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an envelope of an airship and a unit tape body for a braid which prevents wrinkles from occurring by circumferential difference when manufacturing the airship envelope in an elliptic spherical shape by structuring a wide tape body by braiding. SOLUTION: In this method of manufacturing the envelope of the airship by structuring the wide tape body by braiding, the length of the airship L m, maximum diameter dimension D m, radially divided number Dn, axially divided number Ln, and braiding assembly angle A are set, the length dimension, width dimension, and the tape body width angle corresponding to the advancing angle for winding the tape body to be formed are calculated, and the amount of the wrinkles when the tape body is wound is calculated. Based on the calculated value, the unit tape body of a specified shape in plan view is formed, and the envelope of the airship is braided by the unit tape body. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
