The hair lifting system (6) assists hairdressers to bleach strands of hair. It has movable jaws (7) extending from the bottom of a narrow tube (5) moving up through the bore (2) of a broad tube (3). A plunger system is used to open and close the two jaw elements (9) to grasp a lock of hair. When the lock of hair has been drawn out into the broad tube, bleach or dye may be applied.
