PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a thermoplastic polyurethane which is excellent in heat resistance and compression set resistance characteristics while maintaining good moldability. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic polyurethane is produced by reacting a polyol component, a polyisocyanate component, and a chain extender in the presence of an aromatic secondary monoamine compound in an amount of 0.5-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. the sum of the polyol component, the polyisocyanate component, and the chain extender.
