PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve picture quality and to improve an EMC countermeasure by enhancing an electromagnetic wave shielding performance of a radiation image reader. SOLUTION: The reader is provided with a transmitting plate which transmits radio active rays and a casing on which a stimulable phosphor sheet is mounted and the plate is supported to oppose the sheet.
