<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage water heater capable of securing draining hot water in a hot water storage tank in short time. <P>SOLUTION: This heater is provided with a hot water storage tank 4 to store hot water to which a water inlet pipe 6 and a hot water outlet pipe 5 are connected, and a heating means 2 to heat hot water in the hot water storage tank 4. A drain pipe 29 with a drain pump 30 to be connected to the hot water storage tank 4 in draining hot water in the hot water storage tank 4 is separately provided. Since draining of the hot water storage tank 4 is forcedly conducted using the drain pump 30 by connecting the drain pipe 29 in a case of leaving for a long period for a trip, it can be achieved in very short time without need of waiting long to improve usability. Draining can be conducted immediately without need of preliminary drainage to save labor.
