PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eraser which enables the clean erasing of characters etc., written on a rough surface on glass, when a glass writing member is used in consideration of decorativeness, designability and environmental friendliness. SOLUTION: In this eraser which is composed at least of a rectangular parallelepiped-shaped porous material and a supporting plate for mounting the porous material, an forward end edge of the porous material is formed in such a manner as to have a curved cross section. A core part, which forms a shape of an appearance of the porous material, is formed on the supporting plate in such a manner as to be slightly narrower than the supporting plate, so that the forward end edge of the porous material can be formed in such a manner as to have the curved cross section.
