PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame resisting treatment furnace which can reduce an installation cost and can lower the production cost of flame-resistant fibers, in its turn, carbon fibers. SOLUTION: This flame resisting treatment furnace is characterized by having a heat-treating chamber in which precursor fibers continuously travel, hot gas blowout ducts arranged along the travel direction of the precursor fibers and used for blowing out a hot gas in the heat-treating chamber, hot gas-sucking ducts arranged along the travel direction of the precursor fibers and used for sucking the hot gas from the heat-treating chamber, and a hot gas-circulating duct equipped with a hot gas heater and a blower common to the hot gas blowout ducts and the hot gas-sucking ducts, and disposing circulated hot gas-cooling means in the hot gas-circulating duct placed from the precursor fiber entrance to one-third portion of the heat-treating chamber.
