PURPOSE: A DVD reproduction device having an additional information display function is provided to display additional information built in a music CD on a screen of a video display device while playing the music CD, so that a viewer can know information on the music CD as simply selecting a desired song. CONSTITUTION: When a music CD is inserted into a DVD player(150), a controller(140) senses the inserted music CD and outputs a menu program to a video encoder(190). A key input unit(160) receives a control signal generated from a setup key of a DVD reproduction device, and outputs the applied control signal to the controller(140). The controller(140) consists of a microprocessor(141) and a flash ROM(142). The flash ROM(142) stores an operating system for driving the DVD reproduction device, and has a GUI program for displaying file information stored in a TOC(Table Of Content) area of the music CD on a screen. The microprocessor(141) recognizes that the music CD is inserted, and reads a program for realizing a GUI environment on the screen. |
