PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical photoreceiver whose sensibility is improved. SOLUTION: The improved vertical photoreceiver is used in an image sensor. A sensor material for the fixed colors in the vertical photoreceiver is joined to a sensor material for the same color to one in an adjacent improved sensor so that a photo-carrier from an adjacent cell can be put together. When the sensor material is joined, a size of a sensor region for its fixed color increases. When the sensor region of each pixel in the sensor increases, the sensibility and filling rate for each color increase. In an image sensor array, a vertical photoreceiver is arranged so that a face of each color is to be patterned. Each of patterned sensors has a center portion and expansion portion.
