PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate misalignment between a chain of bicycle gear shift and one sprocket or more of the gear shift. SOLUTION: This method for assisting the bicycle gear shift by servo electronically comprises a step for driving an actuator of the bicycle gear shift to move the chain of the gear shift in a first direction or a second direction opposite to the first direction in the axial direction for a gear shift group provided with at least two sprockets (405, 413), a step for receiving information related to alignment completion (406, 414) between the chain and the predetermined sprocket of the gear shift group, and a step for setting adjustment variable of a logic value related to gear ratio for the predetermined sprocket to a value corresponding to moving performed at the step for driving the actuator (404, 409, 412, 416).
