<p>Two blades (14, 14) provided at a slider of a compound needle are reversed so that they are stored at the left and right of a separation wall (9) in blade grooves (8, 8) of a needle main body (4). An opening (18) is provided at a fore-end portion of the blades (14, 14), and bend portions (19, 19), behind the opening. A thick wall portion is provided at a fore-end portion of the separation wall (9), and a thin wall portion, behind the thick wall portion. When the blades are advanced from the blade grooves, the blades are centered at the thick wall portion of the separation wall, and, for a lateral force applied to the blades from a knitted loop, the two blades are brought to be in contact with each other so that they are prevented from deforming. Further, in the blade grooves, the bend portions are brought to be in contact with the thin wall portion of the separation wall, and therefore a force between the blades and the blade grooves does not increase.</p> |
