The invention relates to an input element for triggering a communication device, comprising a bar-type element (1) and an actuating element (2) which largely surrounds said bar-type element and is movable relative thereto in such a way that the actuating element (2) can take in at least two different positions relative to the bar-type element (1) by being displaced in a longitudinal direction (3) or/and being rotated (4) about the bar-type element (1). A piece of input information which can be selected by displacing the actuating element in a substantially vertical direction relative to the bar-type element (1) is assigned to each of said positions, the position of the actuating element (2) being detected by means of a position-detecting section that is mounted on the actuating element (2). |
