The drive train (10) has an engine (12), at least one clutch (14), a gearbox (16), several sensors (22,24) for recording measurement parameters and several actuators (26,28,30,32) controlled via final control elements. The method involves a drive controller (20) for the drive train coordinating the actuators via the final control elements using the measurement parameters from the several sensors. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a drive train, especially for a motor vehicle.
