PURPOSE: A method of making a sliced ginseng product through a finely slicing, freeze-drying, roasting, soaking and drying processes of ginseng is provided. It permits pharmacological action of ginseng as it was without lowering of characteristic taste and flavor. The product can be used as a replacement beverage. CONSTITUTION: Ginseng is finely sliced, freeze-dried at about -30deg.C and then roasted at 120 to 180deg.C for 10 to 40min. Then, 100g treated ginseng is sprayed with 20 to 80ml red ginseng concentrate or soaked in 400 to 500ml red ginseng concentrate. The red ginseng concentrate comprises 15% by weight of red ginseng extract, 1% red ginseng flavor and 84% by weight of moisture. Before packaging the ginseng, it is dried at 50 to 70deg.C for 1 to 3hr using a drier.
