INFORMATION REPRODUCING DEVICE AND AN INFORMATION REPRODUCING METHOD, ESPECIALLY IN RELATION TO REPRODUCING CONTENTS STORED ON AN INFORMATION STORING MEDIUM

PURPOSE: An information reproducing device and an information reproducing method are provided to process image data included in contents and expansion information based on substantial monitor information, and to reproduce the image data by being synchronized with a reproduction of the contents, thereby realizing excellent expandibility of an information storing medium. CONSTITUTION: DVD video contents are decoded by a decoder of a DVD video reproduction engine(100), and are converted into one of LB(Letter Box) and PS(Pan Scan) conversion or 'No Conversion' by an XHTML/CSS layout manager(207). The converted contents are converted into designated size by a DVD video resizing portion(203f). The converted contents are mixed with other ENAV elements by a mixer(203k). Still picture data and animation data are decoded by a still decoder(2081a) and an animation decoder(2081b). A pixel conversion is performed in a still picture converter(203a) or an animation pixel converter(203b) within an AV renderer(203).
