PURPOSE: A structure and a driving method of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) are provided to reduce a power consumption of the LCD panel in IPS(In Plane Switching) mode. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of gate wires(G11-G1n) are arranged lengthwise with a constant interval and a plurality of data wires(D11-D1m) are arranged crosswise with a constant interval. The data wires(G11-G1n) are crossed with the data lines(D11-D1m). A pixel(P11) is defined at the region crossing the gate and data wires(G11-G1n D11-D1m). A switching device such as a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) is equipped to the pixel(P11). A common voltage is supplied to a common electrode formed within the pixel(P11) through common voltage wires(Vcom11-Vcom1n). The common voltage wires(Vcom11-Vcom1n) are separated from the gate wires(G11-G1n) and arranged in parallel to the gate wires(G11-G1n). Common voltage wires(Vcom11,Vcom13,Vcom15,...,Vcom1n-1) with odd numbers are electrically connected with each other. Common voltage wires(Vcom12,Vcom14,Vcom16,...,Vcom1n) with even numbers are electrically connected with each other.
