PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte for driving an electrolytic capacitor which is capable of improving its reliability by restraining an electrode foil from being hydrated for a long term. SOLUTION: Carboxylic acid or its salt, boric acid or its salt, and 0.10 to 5.0 wt.% amide phosphazene oligomer represented by Formula are dissolved into a solvent whose main component is ethylene glycol. Besides azelaic acid, adipic acid, sebacic acid, 1,6-decane dicarboxylic acid, 5,6-decane dicarboxylic acid, 7-vinyl hexadecene-1, 16-dicarboxylic acid or the like can be used as carboxylic acid. Besides ammonium salt, salt of primary amine, such as methylamine, ethylamine or the like, salt of secondary amine, such as dimethylamine, ethyl methylamine or the like, salt of tertiary amine, such as trimethylamine, diethyl methylamine or the like, and salt of quaternary ammonium, such as tetramethyl ammonium or the like can be used as salt of carboxylic acid or boric acid. Using an electrolyte obtained by dissolving amide phosphazene obigomer, an electrode foil can be prevented from being hydrated for a long period of time, resulting in suppressing decrease in tanδand generation of short puncture in electrolytic capacitor.
