PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance in compressing operation by preventing fluid from leakage from a compression chamber of a high pressure stage in a twin lap scroll fluid machine. SOLUTION: The twin lap scroll fluid machine is comprised of a cylindrical casing 1, fixed scrolls 5A and 5B with low pressure stage and high pressure stage, an electrical motor 12 and revolving scrolls 20A, 20B, etc., with high pressure stage and high pressure stage. A discharge port 11A with low pressure stage is connected to a suction port 10B with high pressure stage via piping 26 so that the air compressed with a compression chamber 23A with low pressure stage is additionally compressed in a compression chamber 23B with high pressure. In the low pressure stage where depths of laps 7A and 22A are increased, a radial gap between the laps 7A and 22A is increased. In laps 7B and 22B with high pressure stage where depths are reduced, the radial gap is formed smaller than that of the low pressure stage. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
