PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effective production of an esterase derived from rabbit liver in an industrial scale by utilizing a hetrologous expressing system using a microorganism as the host.

SOLUTION: This invention discloses a recombinant vector including gene of esterase derived from rabbit liver, a transformant including the vector and the method for production of the esterase using the same. The transformant of this invention preferably uses the genus Pichia or the genus Schizosaccharomyces as the host. The esterase derived from the rabbit liver is effectively produced by culturing the transformant.
