<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arc tube in which the luminance of downward direction can be improved by effectively utilizing the visual light excited by a phosphor by ultraviolet rays. <P>SOLUTION: The compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp comprises an arc tube 2 in which fluorescent film 10 is coated on a curvature shaped glass tube 9 in double spiral shape. This arc tube 2 has a revolving section for revolving doubly around a pivot axle A and a turning-over section 91 that connects these two revolving section at the top part. The fluorescent film which is coated on the wall face on the end parts 94, 95 side (P1b, P2b, P3b, P4b ) of the glass tube 9 in parallel direction with the pivot axle A in each cross section of the glass tube 9 is made thicker than the fluorescent film coated on the wall face on the turning-over section side (P1a, P2a, P3a, P4a ) in parallel direction with the pivot axle A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
