BLACK MATRIX FORMING METHOD AND LCD BY USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A black matrix forming method and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) by using the same are provided to minimize use of Chromium as poisonous material, thereby reducing environmental pollution. CONSTITUTION: The black matrix comprises a source layer(620) containing oxygen and a metal layer formed on the source layer(620) as a matrix shape. Chromium oxide films are on both side surfaces of the metal layer. In the formation process of the metal layer, a copper-chromium alloy layer added small amount of chromium is deposited on the source layer(620) and then processed by heat. Chromium separated in the heat processing is deposited and oxidized at both side surfaces of the metal layer, thereby forming the chromium oxide films. Accordingly, in the metal layer, a copper layer is arranged at its center and the chromium oxide films are formed at both side surfaces of the copper layer.
