PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hopper apparatus for rod-shaped articles which can surely be taken out one by one from a hopper even when a hopper drum is rotated at a high speed. SOLUTION: In the hopper apparatus for filter rods R<SB>p</SB>as the rod-shaped articles, a part of the bottom wall of the hopper 2 is constituted of an outward route belt part 16, and a return route belt part 22 is equipped with a delivery belt 10 extending to the outside of a hopper 2, a feed belt 36 for feeding rods R<SB>p</SB>toward a delivery groove 28 of one end part of the outward route belt part 16 positioned on the side of one side wall 4 of a hopper 2, the hopper drum 82 rotatably arranged so as to rollably contact with the outward route belt part 22 and many takeoff grooves 94 installed on the outer peripheral surface of the hopper drum 82 and receiving these rods R<SB>p</SB>one by one from the delivery groove 28.
