<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording condition decision method with which the recording can stably be performed with excellent quality. <P>SOLUTION: In performing trial writing on an information recording medium in order to decide the optimal recording condition, the trial writing is iterated until predesignated numbers are obtained for the conditions for the trial writing in which the tolerance level for recording power capable of maintaining designated recording quality satisfies the designated conditions (steps 401-419). In another words, the tolerance level for the recording power, which is not considered before, is included in a judgement condition in deciding the recording condition. By recording the information using the recording conditions obtained based on the trial writing performed when the tolerance level for the recording power, capable of maintaining the designated recording quality, is comparatively wider, the designated recording quality can satisfactorily be maintained even when an oscillating frequency for a light source fluctuates due to varying temperature during the recording. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
