<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder which can accurately detect a time for exchange of a transfer roller with a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The image recorder is provided with a photoreceptor forming a toner image, a transfer roller transferring the toner image to transfer paper by holding the transfer paper between the photoreceptor, a power source feeding transfer current by applying transfer voltage to the transfer roller and a voltage control means controlling the transfer voltage by monitoring the value to the transfer current and making the transfer current value constant. A detector is provided to compare the actual resistance value of the transfer roller derived from the transfer current value and the transfer voltage value with a reference resistance value and judge that the service life of the transfer roller is finished when the measured resistance value is larger than the reference registance value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
