PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel additive to petroleum fuels for internal combustion engines for improving the global environment, for reducing ill effects on human health, and for improving combustion technology through application of criteria more rigorous than those in the past, by controlling health-threatening endocrine disrupters, photochemical smog, and environmental degradation due to increase of carbon dioxide gas, these attributable to air pollution by dangerous substance-containing exhaust gas resulting from combustion of petroleum-based fuels such as an engine oil of gasoline-powered automobiles. SOLUTION: The fuel additive improves combustion efficiency and greatly decreases dangerous substances, such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, or nitrogen oxides in automobile exhaust gas, and also remarkably enhances cost-performance in fuel consumption. The additive is a mixture including a siloxane or the like prepared for petroleum-based fuels for internal combustion engines for gasoline-powered automobiles. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
