PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to improve cooling efficiency by supercooling refrigerant to a throttle valve, to prevent breakage of the compressor or impact by completely evaporating refrigerant to the compressor, and to reduce expenses and time for absorbing vibration by operation of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises a compressor(Cp) compressing refrigerant; a condenser(Cd) condensing refrigerant from the compressor; a receiver(R) containing refrigerant from the condenser; a throttle valve(Tv) throttling liquid refrigerant from the receiver; an evaporator(E) evaporating refrigerant from the throttle valve; and a heat exchange unit exchanging heat of refrigerant from the evaporator with the outer surface of the receiver and discharging to the compressor. The heat exchange unit has a heat exchange tank restricting the heat exchange space with the outer surface of the receiver.
