COMPATIBLE OPTICAL PICKUP DEVICE

PURPOSE: A compatible optical pickup device is provided to use a cubic-type beam splitter having the first and second specular sides, thereby forming a more compact optical configuration and shortening a focal distance of lights irradiated from the first and second light sources. CONSTITUTION: The first and second light sources(31,41) irradiate lights having predetermined wavelengths, respectively. A cubic-type beam splitter(51) converts a proceeding path of an incident light. An objective lens(57) focuses the incident light, and forms the focused incident light on an optical recording medium(10). A main optical detector(61) receives the incident light reflected from the optical recording medium(10) and passing through the objective lens(57) and the cubic-type beam splitter(51), and detects an information signal and an error signal.
