PURPOSE: A dust collecting device for an air conditioner is provided to electrically collect dust particles by a metal filter applied with electrodes of polarity opposite to that of applied to an ionizing part. CONSTITUTION: A dust collecting device for an air conditioner includes an ionizing part, and a metal filter. The ionizing part electrically separates dust particles in the air. The metal filter is apart from the ionizing part by a predetermined distance and mounted at a lower part of air streams. The metal filter includes fine metal fibers and is applied with electrodes to electrically collect the dust particles, wherein the polarity of the electrodes applied to the metal filter is opposite to the separated dust particles. A static electricity filter is interposed between the ionizing part and the metal filter for generating static electricity.
