PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to achieve improved efficiency of air evacuation and luminance by efficiently using a discharge space. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a front substrate(10) and a rear substrate(12) encapsulated with a discharge gas; and a closed type barrier rib(18) arranged on the inner surface of one of the substrates and made of a material having thermal contraction properties. The bisector formed by connecting the points for bisecting the line width of the barrier rib, has a planar polygonal shape including a square or hexagon. A first inscribed circle has a center formed by the apex of the planar polygon, and a second inscribed circle has a center formed by a point on the side between apex points. The first and second inscribed circles satisfy the expression of R>r, wherein R is the radius of the first inscribed circle and r is the radius of the second inscribed circle. |
