PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color ink jet recording method and recorder in which ink is not ended but print operation can be sustained even if black ink is ended by creating black from three primary colors and the range for creating black can be set partially. SOLUTION: Recording heads 2, 3, 4 and 5 ejecting three primary color inks and black ink are arranged in the main scanning direction in order to perform recording on a print medium by ink jet system.
