<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is constituted to reduce toner fogging, transfer absence, and granular image staining due to coherent toner by smashing the coherent toner included in a recycled toner by a toner smashing member. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus, having a cleaning means of removing a transfer remaining toner on an image carrier and a toner recycling mechanism 28 having a plurality of conveying means of returning the removed toner to a developing device 23 or toner replenishing device, includes a rotary driving type conveying means 281 of conveying a toner by rotating on an axis as a conveying means close to at least the developing device 23 or toner replenishing device among the conveying means and is provided with a toner smashing member 282 which is formed of an elastic film sheet and has a tongue piece 293, and when the rotary driving type conveying means 281 rotates, the tongue piece 293 receives a force from its outer peripheral part to deform. In such simple constitution, when a recycled toner is used, coherent toner in the recycled toner is deterred from being returned to the developing device and image defects such as toner fogging, transfer absence, and granular image staining due to the cohering toner are reducible. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
