<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To order articles on which the order is made by the quantity more than the storage quantity by a storing means as one unit, at proper timing. <P>SOLUTION: In this ordering method, the order is made by the quantity more than the storing quantity of the storage means 10 such as a paper supply cassette and the like storing a plurality of articles P such as recording paper sheets, as one ordering unit. In this order method, the articles P having identification information such as a bar code and a special color is detected by a detecting device from the groups of articles P, P, P of one ordering unit, and outputs an ordering signal indicating the order timing to an information processing unit 2 connected to the detecting device through a communication network N, when the articles P having the identification information are detected.
